Hello everyone ! How are you ? Sorry for my absence for these times.
I hope I can be more regular about my articles. This week I wanted to post on a serious topic. Because it's true, we often talk about fleeing sin but what about when we're in it?
As perfectible human beings, we fall daily into sin, into words, into practice and into thought, and we repent of it as often as we can.
The path is not always linear, but we strive to live with sincerity with the help of God. I thought immediately of Adam and Eve.
Indeed after making sure to create the Earth, to make it a healthy place for life to flourish, God created man in his image (so that he lives in communion with him.)
He blessed the man by ordering him to be fertile, to multiply himself, to fill the Earth and to dominate over all the creation. To the man he gave her a wife, who will be a help to him.
But the devil entered the serpent to manipulate Eve by questioning the orders of God and doubt in the Spirit of Man. "Really, did God tell you," Do not eat fruit from the garden? he whispered in Eve's ear. As with any temptation, he showed him all the "advantages" that his flesh could have and hided all the bad things.
_ "Did God really say ? Noooooo ... God forbid you to eat the fruit of the forbidden tree, because he does not want you to be his equal, that you can" know "as he knows. you deprive of some benefit and through this prohibition, it is a "universe" that hides you.
This is the poison he wanted to distil (One day we will talk about lying in manipulation).
Then the woman ate and saw that she was one with her husband, she gives it too. So everything collapses. Their eyes opened and their nakedness was revealed.
For the rest, read Genesis 3: 6-24.
As Adam and Eve, after falling, hid themselves from the face of God because of their nakedness, a feeling of guilt invades us and pushes us to distance ourselves from God by ceasing to pray or attend an assembly (for example).
The first thing we do often is to hide away from Him. But the truth is that God sees everything, God knows everything, and was there when we went to the act. There is nothing hidden that must be revealed before him. He knows our weaknesses and our failings.
He probes our hearts and our loins and knows our intentions.
So hiding is useless.
And like Jonah, even if we are going to take refuge at the end of the world to escape him, he will eventually bring us back to Him by any means. And to go further, He seeks us, he is who notices our absence and is often affected.
Like the father in the episode of the prodigal son, he is waiting for us and he is in great joy when we return. If after falling, God came back to seek Adam, how much more he will not do it with us today, who have the blood of Jesus to cleanse us. If this is done from sincere repentance.
Of course, all this will not happen without consequences. But please, I invite you that in spite of our sins, we sincerely repent and approach God. He, who is love, will not hesitate to welcome us. God, the repairer of the breaches, will restore what has been broken.
